Tour Itinerary:
- Early Departure: Your adventure begins early, with pick-up from your resort at approximately 07:00 a.m., ensuring we reach Zakynthos Town Port before the 08:00 a.m. ferry to Kyllini.
- Journey to Olympia: After a scenic ferry ride and a drive past Pirgos, taking about 60 minutes, we arrive at the legendary site of Olympia, nestled between Chronios Hill and the rivers Alfios and Kladdeos.
- Guided Tour of the Archaeological Site: Here, our Olympia Tour guide will lead you through the ancient grounds where the Olympic Games were first held in 776 B.C., a tradition that lasted over 1200 years. Marvel at the ruins and columns of temples dedicated to the Olympian gods, showcasing the renowned ancient Greek architecture.
- The New Museum: Next, we delve into the new museum, where you’ll have ample time to admire the exquisite statues, ancient weapons, and tools unearthed from the archaeological site.
- Olympia Village: The tour then takes a leisurely turn to the contemporary village of Olympia. Here, you can enjoy lunch (not included in the package price), shop for souvenirs, or pick up books on this historic site.
- Killini Fortress: Before catching our ferry back, we’ll visit the stunning Killini fortress, adding a picturesque end to our exploration.
- Return Journey: We depart Olympia at approximately 15:45 p.m., with the ferryboat to Zakynthos leaving around 17:30 p.m. Expect to return to your resort by approximately 19:30 p.m.
